The Course
This 7-Week course will explore how to find joy in a challenging world by studying truth from God's Word and neuroscience.
In each lesson we will define joy and expand on a different aspect of that definition. Since joy has a relational element, this course is designed to allow you to learn with a small group. In the workbook there is an icebreaker that ties into the 25-30 min lesson with discussion questions at the end to get the conversation started.
Doing the study independently? That's great, too! You will have a more focused journey to connect yourself back to the true Source of joy!
Either way you are studying, the workbook is a vital part of the learning. It houses your key points, scripture, and discussion questions to help you learn. Each week there is a practices section that will help you dial in your learning into practical application. So make sure you grab your workbook here if you haven't already!
What you will learn
You will learn about the infinite Source of joy and begin to define your own joy story. We will explore how God has surrounded you in joy, and begin to understand how this whole experience works. Neuroscience will help give deep insight to why joy is so hard and what we are really up against in our biochemistry.
We will also talk about a key element that makes joy so hard: suffering. We will get practical, making progress together on how we can turn our current experience into one of joy. This isn't a toxic positivity or avoidance route to joy, but rather we will learn to use suffering to get us back on the path of joy. It will hopefully change the way you view your life, and remind you that you were made for joy!
